The dark fantasy manga Berserk, created by the late Kentaro Miura, is nearing its 35th anniversary. After Miura's passing, his studio, STUDIO GAGA, took over the reins to continue the epic story he couldn't finish in his lifetime.
Recently, Japanese prop maker Satsuki Usagi (@n_h_molding) recreated Guts' iconic "Dragon Slayer" sword from Berserk in life-size and shared it on X. The sheer presence of this sword is mind-blowing, and netizens are absolutely raving about their incredible craftsmanship.

When you think of Guts, the protagonist known as the "Black Swordsman" for his all-black armor and cape, you immediately picture him wielding the colossal "Dragon Slayer"—a massive greatsword longer than he is tall. As the manga famously describes it, "It's less a sword and more a giant slab of iron," making it one of the most iconic weapons in ACG history.

Satsuki Usagi, a professional specializing in cosplay and stage props, faithfully recreated the Dragon Slayer. The finished piece measures an astounding 2.2 meters (over 7 feet) long, perfectly capturing the manga's immense scale.

Despite its intimidating appearance, this Dragon Slayer weighs a mere 1.7 kilograms (about 3.7 lbs)! This incredible lightness is thanks to its primary resin construction, making it incredibly easy to handle—even for women! Satsuki Usagi also applied a meticulous weathered finish, exquisitely replicating the Dragon Slayer's texture and battle-worn scars from the manga. The overall accuracy is absolutely spot-on.

Interestingly, Satsuki Usagi revealed that this particular Dragon Slayer was made for a friend's wedding. We can only imagine how epic (and perhaps slightly terrifying?) the cake-cutting ceremony will be! Satsuki Usagi has crafted many other incredible and highly effective cosplay props, so if you're curious, definitely check out their X account!
