Bunmeido, the long-established Nagasaki Castella cake shop famous for its century-old signature honey cake, meticulously baked piece by piece by artisans, is a beloved brand in Japan and a popular souvenir for many tourists.
Today (March 4), Bunmeido announced a sweet collaboration with "Doraemon the Movie: Nobita's Painting World Story," set to hit theaters on March 7! To celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Doraemon movie series, they're dropping a special "Doraemon Castella Cake" featuring characters from the film right on the cake. Get ready to grab yours starting March 6, both online and in physical stores.

Founded in 1900, Bunmeido has been a Japanese favorite for over 120 years. Bunmeido Tokyo, spearheaded by Jinnzaemon Miyazaki (brother of founder Yasugoro Nakagawa), took the brand to new heights in the capital with innovative marketing strategies.
Beyond their wide array of Castella cakes and sweets, Bunmeido has previously teamed up with Doraemon for a fan-favorite collaboration dorayaki (red bean pancake).

This latest Castella cake is crafted with Bunmeido's carefully selected premium honey, boasting a rich aroma and delicate texture. But the real showstopper? An adorable illustration of Doraemon himself, decked out in his movie outfit, striking a cute pose with a paintbrush! It's almost too cute to eat!
And that's not all! The packaging features movie characters Claire and Chai, alongside various Secret Gadgets. Timed perfectly with the film's release, this is an absolute must-have for fans to collect and savor!
