Get ready for a fresh dose of Gundam action! The highly anticipated 2025 anime series, "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX," is set to blast off this April, a collaborative effort from animation giants Khara (of "Neon Genesis Evangelion" fame) and Sunrise (the studio behind the "Mobile Suit Gundam" franchise). Its prequel film, "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX-Beginning-," has already raked in over 3 billion JPY at the Japanese box office, with strong showings in Taiwan too.
We've previously featured Japanese cosplayer Tokiwa (@TKWcos), known for her incredible takes on Kikuri Hiroi from "Bocchi the Rock!" and Ren Yamashiro from "Chained Soldier." Now, she's back with a stunning cosplay of Amate Yoha, aka Machu, the protagonist from "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX"! Her self-made costume, spot-on wig, and meticulous makeup have captured the attention of fans everywhere.

In "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX," protagonist Amate Yoha (Machu) is a high school student living a peaceful, albeit somewhat surreal, everyday life in a space colony. One day, she encounters Nean, a war refugee girl, and accidentally becomes the pilot of the mysterious Mobile Suit "GQuuuuuuX." This thrusts her into the illicit MS Battle Arena known as "Battle Group Showdown," where Yoha adopts the alias "Machu" and dives headfirst into intense daily combat.

Tokiwa chose to cosplay Machu because she absolutely loved the energetic protagonist after watching the "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX-Beginning-" movie. Machu's adorable red bob and often contrasting personality inspired Tokiwa to craft the costume, wig, and makeup herself, perfectly recreating the character's in-show attire and hairstyle. Fans are raving about the incredible accuracy!
▼ Tokiwa is incredibly skilled at crafting her own cosplay props and costumes, almost all of which she makes by hand.

She didn't just stop at the school uniform; she also created Machu's pilot suit! And get this—she even recreated Haro, Machu's trusty companion. Talk about dedication!

Whoa, she even pulled off the handstand pose that's straight out of the official character design sheets! Cosplayers these days are seriously raising the bar, aren't they?

So, what do you think of Tokiwa's incredible work? Be sure to check out her X (formerly Twitter) account, where she frequently shares her latest creations!
