Palworld Devs Still Eyeing Switch 2 Port: "100% Consider" If Tech Allows

Despite facing a lawsuit from Nintendo, developer Pocketpair hasn't wavered from their goal of bringing "Palworld" to Nintendo consoles. John "Bucky" Buckley, the company's PR Director, told IGN during GDC that if the Switch 2's hardware specs are powerful enough, they would "100% consider" porting the monster-catching survival game to the new console.

Bucky revealed that Pocketpair initially wanted to bring "Palworld" to the original Switch. However, the game's massive scale meant the current Switch couldn't deliver ideal performance, ultimately shelving those plans. The arrival of the Switch 2, however, could change everything.

"Like everyone else, we're waiting for the Switch 2's hardware specs," Bucky stated. "I was asking around at GDC, hoping to get some intel, but everyone I talked to said they haven't seen it either."

He further added, "If the Switch 2's specs are robust enough, bringing 'Palworld' to that platform is 100% on the table. We've already done a ton of optimization for the Steam Deck, and we're really happy with the results. While there's always room for improvement, we definitely want to see this game running on more handhelds in the future."
