The cross-platform game Palworld exploded onto the scene in 2024, sparking both massive hype and its fair share of controversy. But one thing's for sure: the Palworld devs absolutely know how to grab attention and dominate the social media zeitgeist. Now, over a year after its initial release, the official team has dropped...
A Palworld dating sim?!
Palworld! ~I Don't Want to Be Just Friends Anymore~ originally debuted as an April Fool's prank last year. The devs even put together a slick promo video, complete with a "Release Date: April 1, 2025" tag. It looked like a classic April Fool's gag, through and through.

However, this game has now dropped a second trailer, and even a Steam page! Are they actually going to make this game?!
▼Here's the brand-new trailer:

From the looks of this new trailer, the game still keeps its school-style setting, where players will get to experience a heart-pounding school life with Pals under the legendary World Tree...
But here's the kicker: last year's announcement listed an April 1, 2025 release date, but in this new trailer, the game's status has changed to "In Development." If you click through to the Steam page, you'll also see "Release Date: To Be Announced." This makes it seem like they're actually serious about developing it...
Players are, understandably, losing their minds over this bizarre move, with comments like "What is this company even doing?!", "Wasn't this an April Fool's joke...? Are they actually making it??", and "What the heck is this company up to?!"
What everyone thought was just an April Fool's gag now looks like it's actually happening – and yeah, it's pretty wild. And get this: in last year's April Fool's post, the devs even hinted at both an "all-ages version and an R18 version" launching simultaneously. Will we actually get an R18 version? Guess we'll just have to wait and see...
