Two of Marvel Comics' most popular characters, Spider-Man and Wolverine, are set to join forces for a brand-new adventure. Marvel has officially announced a new monthly series, "Spider-Man & Wolverine," from the creative team of writer Marc Guggenheim (known for his work on DC's "Arrowverse" series, as well as for both DC and Marvel Comics) and artist Kaare Andrews. The first issue is scheduled to launch on May 7, 2025.

While Spider-Man and Wolverine have appeared together in major event storylines like "Secret Wars," deep-dive collaborations between the two have been rare. Perhaps the most iconic was the 1987 one-shot "Spider-Man vs. Wolverine," which became a classic for its dark and heavy ending that set the tone for their future interactions. "I love that book," Guggenheim stated, "but we're telling a new story in a very different tone."
The new series will center on the mysterious "Janus Directory," a classified file that exposes the true identities of sleeper agents across the globe, pulling both Peter Parker and Logan into a high-stakes crisis. A key focus of the book will be whether these two heroes, with their strong personalities and clashing ideologies, can set aside their differences to confront the threat.

Artist Andrews emphasized that his work on the series is a return to his childhood love and intuition for comics. He described the style as "new-stalgic," explaining, "It’s not nostalgia. It’s not a tribute. It’s a continuation of a living thing. It’s the energy that makes you fall in love with comics again."
Although the story will reflect the characters' current status in "The Amazing Spider-Man" and "X-Men: From the Ashes," Guggenheim guarantees the series will be completely new-reader friendly. "No homework required. No baggage," he promised. "Even if you've never read a Spider-Man or Wolverine comic before, you can jump right in and enjoy the adventure."
