While former PlayStation executive Shuhei Yoshida recently criticized Nintendo's upcoming Switch 2 for focusing on performance and graphics at the expense of creative hardware design, Xbox is taking a much more positive view of the next-gen console, giving it high praise.

In a recent interview with Variety, Xbox head Phil Spencer stated he "truly believes in Nintendo's importance to this industry" and reaffirmed plans to support the Nintendo Switch 2 with multiple Xbox franchises.
"We have supported the original Nintendo Switch, so I hope to continue that partnership on the new Switch 2 platform," Spencer said. "Nintendo has always been a great partner, and their platform allows us to reach players who aren't on PC or Xbox, which is crucial for expanding our community and promoting our game series."
"I truly believe in Nintendo's importance to this industry, and I believe we should continue to support them," he added. "Having our franchises supported by Nintendo's platform is, I think, a crucial part of our future development."

While no Xbox games were featured in Nintendo's recent Switch 2 Direct presentation, multiple reports suggest that Microsoft is planning to bring titles like Diablo IV, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and Microsoft Flight Simulator to the new platform. Additionally, Activision has already committed to bringing the Call of Duty series to Nintendo's new console.
It's worth noting that as far back as 2023, Xbox CFO Tim Stuart expressed a desire to bring the company's streaming services to rival platforms like Sony Interactive Entertainment's PlayStation 5 and Nintendo's Switch.

More recently, the company partnered with Samsung to bring Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to its OLED TVs, even collaborating with acclaimed Hollywood director David Fincher on a commercial titled "Wake Up" to promote the initiative.
Spencer emphasized this expansive strategy: "Whether it's through the cloud, PC, or console, we are committed to expanding our game franchises and platforms to be accessible in more places. Our driving force is to make Xbox a more significant part of every player's life."
