Back in 1995, TAKARA TOMY launched the wildly popular B-Daman toy series, a spin-off from Bomberman. While the more recent Cap Revolution Bottleman toys have kept the spirit alive, the original series still holds a special place in many hearts.

Recently on X (formerly Twitter), user Yu Amemiya (@punsukabooks), a massive B-Daman fan, put out a call for netizens' favorite memories of the toys and series. (Amemiya specifically mentioned being most familiar with Super B-Daman.)
Amemiya was hoping to collect some fun stories, but what they reeled in was far bigger: none other than Shun Imaga, the manga artist behind "Burst Ball Barrage!! Super B-Daman," commented directly on the post! The OP was understandably floored, having accidentally landed the ultimate pro, LOL.
Imaga-sensei shared that drawing the OS Armor when it first appeared was an absolute nightmare, jokingly recalling how tough it was back then. Amemiya thanked the artist for responding, adding that the OS Armor felt incredibly futuristic as a kid and they absolutely loved it!
Imaga-sensei expressed how incredibly rewarding it felt as the author to see everyone still passionately discussing B-Daman, extending a heartfelt thank you to all the fans.

▼ For those familiar with Super B-Daman, the OS Armor needs no introduction. In the story, during the semi-finals of the JBA National B-Daman Tournament, each competitor was equipped with an OS Armor – essentially a reinforced exoskeleton that could be further enhanced with OS accessory parts to boost their B-Daman's power.

The star-struck Yu Amemiya shared Imaga-sensei's response, which quickly garnered a massive reaction from other netizens. Everyone was amazed that a simple post could reel in such a legendary figure – talk about an incredible stroke of luck!
Getting a direct reply from the manga author is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, leaving many netizens green with envy.

It's clear that the B-Daman series still sparks strong childhood memories for many. While Cap Revolution Bottleman offers a modern take, the original series holds a distinct charm. Imaga-sensei's willingness to engage also highlights his approachable nature. Who knows, maybe if you have a burning question, he might just be willing to share some insights!
