Despite the widespread controversy and audience backlash surrounding her casting in Disney's live-action "Snow White," Rachel Zegler's Hollywood career appears to be moving forward. Variety exclusively reports today that Zegler is set to star in the dramedy "She Gets It From Me," marking her first confirmed big-screen role since wrapping "Snow White."

In the film, Zegler will portray Nikki, whose engagement party is unexpectedly crashed by her estranged, drug-addicted former punk rock singer mother, Charlotte, played by Academy Award winner Marisa Tomei. The chaotic reunion, however, presents an opportunity for the duo to repair their fractured relationship. Based on a true story, the film will be helmed by German director Julia von Heinz, known for "Hannah's Journey" (pictured above). A release date has not yet been announced.
