Talk about a blast from the past! The legendary "Super Famicom" (or SNES, if you prefer) holds a special place in the hearts of veteran gamers. As the successor to the Famicom, it quickly became a 90s icon, boasting beloved titles like "Super Mario World," "The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past," and "Street Fighter II." Pure gaming gold!
Well, get ready to have your mind blown! A Japanese X (formerly Twitter) user recently unveiled their incredible, handcrafted "Wooden Super Famicom," and its stunning craftsmanship has sent the internet into a frenzy!
This magnificent wooden console is the brainchild of X user Matsuo Pedalboard (@matsuo_board). While Matsuo usually crafts custom furniture and pedalboards, he had a stroke of genius: why not use a console he adored as a kid, the Super Famicom, to grab some extra attention? And thus, this masterpiece was born!
Every inch of this console screams luxury. The main body is crafted from maple, while the top cover and buttons feature elegant walnut. And that iconic logo? It's meticulously inlaid with vibrant woods like padauk, yellowheart, and purpleheart. Every single step is done by hand, and the logo's color scheme is so spot-on, you'd swear it was official!
Matsuo-san was adamant about "using hand tools as much as possible," pouring extreme attention into every detail and texture. But here's the kicker: he actually installed a real Super Famicom motherboard inside, making it fully playable! You can even pop in your old cartridges, and the slot features a clever wooden cover, blending fun with functionality.

This wooden Super Famicom isn't just a piece of art; it's a heartfelt homage to childhood and pure passion. It's no wonder Matsuo-san's incredible craftsmanship has earned such widespread admiration!
