Legendary Pictures' MonsterVerse is officially expanding with a third "Godzilla" and "Kong" team-up film, which has just begun production. A surprise teaser has also dropped, unveiling the full title: "Godzilla x Kong: Supernova." Based on the teaser and the title, speculation suggests the new monster introduced in this installment may originate from outer space rather than Earth.
Grant Sputore, known for directing "I Am Mother," takes the helm for this new chapter, succeeding Adam Wingard, who directed the previous two entries. Dave Callaham, a co-writer on the 2014 "Godzilla" film, returns to pen the script.

The new ensemble cast features Kaitlyn Dever, Jack O'Connell, Delroy Lindo, Matthew Modine, and Sam Neill. Dan Stevens, who played Monarch veterinarian Trapper, responsible for Kong's care in the previous film, "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire," is also confirmed to return. The film is slated for a North American release on March 26, 2027.
