As "Amazing Spider-Man" approaches its monumental 1000th issue, Marvel Comics has officially unveiled a series of major plans, including significant story developments and 25 "Amazing Visions" variant covers by acclaimed artist Lee Bermejo, set to leave an indelible mark on Spider-Man's legendary history.
Kicking off with "Amazing Spider-Man" #11 on September 3, 2025, Spider-Man will undergo a monumental story shift: Peter Parker will unexpectedly split into two distinct Spider-Men. One will embark on cosmic adventures, while the other focuses on Earth-bound challenges. This ambitious creative direction is spearheaded by writer Joe Kelly and lead artists Pepe Larraz and John Romita Jr., with Larraz also designing a brand-new cosmic-themed suit to give the character a fresh visual identity.

Concurrently, Marvel announced that this issue will also mark the beginning of a 25-issue countdown to the landmark 1000th issue (which will be the current run's #36). To commemorate this legendary milestone, Eisner Award-nominated artist Lee Bermejo, known for his realistic style, will illustrate 25 consecutive variant covers starting with issue #11. These covers will capture Spider-Man's most iconic and pivotal moments throughout his history. The first three covers will feature Spider-Man's classic look, his first battle against Doctor Octopus, and the historic encounter with the Lizard.
