Now, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the beloved anime series "Neon Genesis Evangelion," G-Shock is dropping a special commemorative collaboration watch! Priced at 37,400 JPY, it's currently available for pre-order on the EVA STORE online shop.
For this milestone 30th-anniversary piece, G-Shock brought in none other than Ikuto Yamashita, the mechanical designer behind the "Neon Genesis Evangelion" series, to personally craft the design. He's infused every single detail of the watch with iconic Evangelion elements and flair.
Based on the GA-110 model, the watch face itself is a vibrant homage to Unit-01's signature colors, and if you look closely, you'll even spot the distinct features of Unit-01's head.
The 9 o'clock sub-dial features an Angel-themed design, while the Y-shaped bezel sports the familiar "CAUTION" warning graphics seen throughout the anime.
The strap is equally packed with details, featuring Unit-01's iconic "horn" and the Spear of Longinus stretching across its length. The lower strap even depicts Unit-01's left arm, clenched and ready to throw. The strap ring is engraved with "NEON GENESIS," and the NERV logo subtly adorns the strap end, adding those perfect small touches.
The case back proudly features the 30th-anniversary logo, and the storage box also sports the anniversary design.
