This time, we're spotlighting Japanese X (formerly Twitter) user ドクロージ (@dokuro_ojisan), who took a Bandai candy toy – specifically, a model from the "ChocoSap Mobile Suit Gundam" chocolate egg series – and absolutely nailed it with a custom Z'Gok mini-model diorama. His ingenious creation has earned widespread praise from netizens.
The "ChocoSap" series is all about delicious fun and that exciting "what's inside?" mystery! These gashapon-style chocolate balls, about 52mm in diameter, combine milk and white chocolate, hiding a detailed 45-55mm mini-model inside. They pack impressive sculpting for a candy toy!
Funnily enough, the box art for this particular series features a Z'Gok bursting out of a chocolate shell. That sparked an idea for ドクロージ: why not use the model he pulled to perfectly recreate that exact scene?
He meticulously painted the roughly 4cm tall Z'Gok model, then crafted a "chocolate shell" inspired by the actual product. He cut open and repainted the capsule, transforming it into a dual-textured display base resembling milk chocolate and white chocolate, making it look like a delectable dessert.
To top it off, he created a sharp, comic-book-style sign with the word "Z'Gok" in a two-tone design, perfectly blending with the chocolate theme. When assembled, it truly captures that epic moment of the Z'Gok exploding out of the chocolate!
