Jutaro, the in-house brand of Kurita Sangyo Co., Ltd., a venerable Japanese foundry established in Meiji 23 (1890), has just announced a brand-new, pure tin cast chopstick rest inspired by Gavan's iconic jump pose. Priced at 5,280 yen, it's available now on Jutaro's official online store and at the Jutaro exhibition hall in Shizuoka City.
"Space Sheriff Gavan," a tokusatsu TV series produced by Toei in 1982, centered on the titular Space Sheriff Gavan as he fought to protect Earth. It became a super-hero phenomenon, later getting a movie adaptation in 2012, solidifying its status as a timeless tokusatsu masterpiece.
Its unique worldview and character designs set it apart from the Super Sentai and Kamen Rider series, garnering immense popularity. This influence even extended to Hollywood, reportedly inspiring the design of the "Robocop" suit.
The new "Space Sheriff Gavan Chopstick Rest" faithfully recreates Gavan's signature leaping stance. Measuring approximately 7 cm, it boasts exquisite surface details, all handcrafted by skilled casting artisans.
