The official Pokémon Center stores are a massive hit with fans worldwide, and Japan is gearing up to welcome a brand-new location. Get ready for a rush of new and exclusive merch!
The Pokémon Company announced on September 19 that Pokémon Center Kagawa will officially open its doors on October 24! To celebrate, they're dropping a whole line of commemorative merchandise that blends Kagawa's famous udon culture and traditional crafts with beloved Pokémon. They've also released details about a special pre-opening preview event.
Pokémon Center Kagawa will be located on the first floor of the Marugame Green shopping center in Takamatsu, Kagawa Prefecture, opening on October 24. Visitors will be greeted at the entrance by a laid-back Pikachu and a yawning Slowpoke, who seems to have made Pikachu sleepy too.
The new location will also feature the first Pokémon Card Station in the Shikoku region, offering "Pokémon Card Game Classroom" sessions for newcomers to learn the rules, as well as battle events for friends and family to enjoy.
A "Pre-Opening Preview" will be held the day before the grand opening on October 23. Fans can enter a lottery on the official website from September 19 to 23 for a chance to be one of the 100 lucky groups invited to attend.
To celebrate the grand opening, a collection of exclusive commemorative products will be available! The merchandise lineup is inspired by Kagawa's local culture, featuring designs with Pikachu, Slowpoke, and other popular Pokémon.
The collection includes an udon-holding Pikachu plush, a Slowpoke-themed udon tub, a Horsea soy sauce dispenser, an olive oil bottle, apparel, and accessories, all featuring key art of Pokémon relaxing in nature. Additionally, special souvenirs incorporating Kagawa's traditional crafts will be released, offering a true taste of local flavor.
