To mark this milestone, the popular "Ghibli's Memorable Scenes Exhibit" within Ghibli's Grand Warehouse is getting its first major refresh since opening! Get ready to feast your eyes on the iconic "Savoia S-21" flying boat from "Porco Rosso," which will be a new highlight for visitors.
Starting December 17, half of the 14 zones in the "Ghibli's Memorable Scenes Exhibit" will feature brand-new content. The latest addition? A dedicated section for "The Boy and the Heron," where you can step into the shoes of protagonist Mahito and confront the Granduncle alongside the young girl Himi!
But that's not all! The update also brings new displays inspired by Ghibli shorts like "On Your Mark," "My Neighbors the Yamadas," and "Ghiblies episode2." Plus, some existing favorites like "Only Yesterday," "Porco Rosso," and "The Tale of the Princess Kaguya" will feature different iconic scenes. Heads up, though: current displays from "Ocean Waves," "The Wind Rises," "When Marnie Was There," and the breathtaking "Castle in the Sky" scene with Sheeta's descent will only be around until December 1, so catch them while you can!
And there's more! From November 1, the "Hill of Wind Cafe" will transform into a "Porco Rosso"-themed haven, proudly displaying the "Savoia S-21" flying boat. This magnificent wooden replica of the "Savoia S-21" previously wowed crowds at the "Ghibli's Dimensional Exhibition" in Tokyo before finding its new home here.
However, to make way for this exciting transformation, the cafe will be temporarily closed for renovations from September 26 to October 31. Don't worry, though – the adjacent shop will remain open!
