Konami and Taiwanese developer NeoBards Entertainment's new horror title, "Silent Hill f" (サイレントヒルf), has absolutely crushed it since its global launch on September 25, 2025. In just three days, the game blew past the one-million-unit sales mark, setting a new series record and outperforming last year's "Silent Hill 2 Remake" (サイレントヒル2), which took a full week to hit the same milestone.
Konami's press release highlighted the game's explosive reception both in Japan and overseas, noting significantly faster shipments compared to previous titles.
NeoBards Entertainment also took to X (formerly Twitter) to thank fans for their incredible support, stating: "Silent Hill f achieved one million global sales in just three days. Thank you to all the players who joined us on this psychological horror journey. We hope everyone experiences the beauty within the terror of the Showa-era horror world."
The game's story centers on high school student Hinako Fukami. One day, her hometown of Enokigaoka is suddenly engulfed in a dense fog, transforming the once-familiar town into a silent, eerie landscape where grotesque creatures lurk. Hinako must solve puzzles and survive in an ever-changing, nightmarish environment while being relentlessly pursued by terrifying monsters.
Unlike previous entries in the series, which often emphasized evasion and psychological dread, "Silent Hill f" has players buzzing about its protagonist, Hinako, thanks to her surprisingly hardcore demeanor.
She remains utterly unfazed even when facing hordes of monsters, coolly remarking, "There aren't enough of them to even make a fight." Her pipe-wielding moves are both skilled and precise, showcasing incredible arm strength. Fans have affectionately dubbed her the "JK War Goddess" or "Pipe-Wielding War Goddess," noting her aura is anything but that of a typical high school girl.

Coupled with action-game-like dodge mechanics, players are praising Hinako's combat as smoother than many RPGs, with some even declaring, "Hinako is the most direct combat-capable protagonist in the series." This wave of discussion has added a fresh layer of "satisfying action" to "Silent Hill f" beyond its terrifying atmosphere.
Of course, some traditional fans are a bit worried that the increased action might dilute the series' signature psychological horror. But regardless of the debate, Hinako Fukami, with her unique "hardcore JK style" and the game's stellar sales, has undeniably become one of the hottest topics in the gaming world this year.
