TERAleak Anniversary: New Leaks Reveal 'Pokémon Legends Z-A' Footage and Gen 10 'Wind/Waves' Details

It's been a year since the infamous "TERAleak" incident, and guess what? Pokémon developer Game Freak is once again reeling from another massive data breach.

Reports indicate this latest wave of leaks isn't just about early test footage and cut content from the upcoming "Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A." Even more shocking, it allegedly includes data for the unannounced Generation 10 mainline titles, "Pokémon Wind" and "Pokémon Waves."

According to various international media outlets and dataminers, these leaked files originated from server data stolen last year. It seems the hackers deliberately held back some content, choosing to unleash it right before "Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A" is set to launch on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. This move has once again plunged Nintendo and The Pokémon Company into a PR nightmare. The leaked data includes in-development gameplay footage and screenshots from "Z-A," revealing cut features, mini-games, unexposed mechanics, and internal discussion documents.

But what truly sent shockwaves through the fandom is the emergence of Generation 10-related info. According to the leak account Centro Leaks, the new titles will be called "Pokémon Wind" and "Pokémon Waves," with "Infinity" as their theme. Series veteran Shigeru Ohmori is reportedly directing the games.

Rumor has it that "Pokémon Wind/Waves" will be set in Indonesia and the Southeast Asian archipelago, a stark contrast to previous whispers of a "Greek archipelago" setting.

Notorious leaker Riddler Khu has also vouched for the authenticity of this info, describing the game's setting as an "archipelago map." Apparently, both of the game's legendary Pokémon are storm-related—one embodying wind, the other waves—and will only accept humans who treat Pokémon kindly.

The leaked data also hints at a brand-new "Seed Pokémon" larval form and a new battle mechanic centered around weather changes.

As for the story, it reportedly revolves around a "city-raised child." The protagonist's mother wins a travel prize, taking the family on vacation, and their infant younger sibling will gradually grow up as the game progresses.

Upon arriving on the island, the protagonist's family discovers the area is being ravaged by a chairman. This man once built a resort where humans and Pokémon coexisted, but after losing his son, he grew to despise Pokémon. The villainous force is a development company collaborating with him, and the protagonist's true adversary isn't the chairman's son, but a new friend made during the journey.

As of now, neither Nintendo nor Game Freak has issued an official statement regarding the incident. The general consensus is that this "TERAleak 2.0" outbreak proves Nintendo's efforts to track down the hackers have, so far, been unsuccessful.

While some documents date back to 2021 and their authenticity is still pending verification, this leak has already ignited a fresh wave of community discussion, casting a shadow over the upcoming "Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A" and the future direction of the series.
