Manga artist Ken'ya Suzuki's popular series "Please Tell Me! Galko-chan" (おしえて！ ギャル子ちゃん) has been on hiatus since 2021 after the author was arrested on suspicion of importing child pornography from Germany.
But hold up! Yesterday (October 15), KADOKAWA's online manga platform "ComicWalker," under its "WebComic Apanda" brand, officially announced that "Please Tell Me! Galko-chan" is finally back, resuming serialization after a four-year break! Fans are absolutely buzzing with excitement.
"Please Tell Me! Galko-chan" centers on three distinct high school girls: the outgoing and straightforward "Galko," the otaku "Otako" who lives for all things 2D, and the elegant "Ojou." The series delves into their daily chats, exploring all sorts of topics that girls might not openly discuss with guys but are totally curious about—from everyday life and bodily functions to friendships and more.
The manga kicked off on "ComicWalker" in 2014, with each chapter being a self-contained story, often titled with a "Is it true about XX?" format. Its unique pacing and charming characters quickly garnered a massive following on social media. In 2016, it even got an anime adaptation, drawing in even more dedicated fans.
Since its hiatus in December 2021, the series remained unupdated, leading many readers to believe it had quietly ended. While Ken'ya Suzuki continued to post on his personal social media and even released other works after the incident, "Galko-chan" seemed to have been shelved indefinitely.
Now, with this new chapter dropping after nearly four years, X (formerly Twitter) instantly erupted with fan comments like, "I can't believe Galko-chan is back!" and "So happy the serialization restarted!"
Ken'ya Suzuki himself shared that this comeback will feature content originally not included in the fifth volume of the tankobon, inviting everyone to look forward to "Please Tell Me! Galko-chan"'s brand-new stories.
