Kate Winslet has expanded her career behind the scenes in recent years, not only executive producing series she starred in, such as "Mare of Easttown," "The Regime," and "Lee," but also preparing to release her directorial debut, "Goodbye June," in which she also stars. The screenplay was penned by her son, Joe Anders, whom she shares with director Sam Mendes. The film's first trailer and promotional poster (pictured below) were released earlier today.

The official synopsis reveals that the story unfolds on Christmas Eve when a sudden health crisis for the family matriarch throws her four adult children and their exasperating father into disarray. As they confront the potential loss, the family dynamic becomes chaotic. However, the astute mother, June, remains composed, orchestrating her life's final act with sharp humor, candidness, and abundant love.
