Stewart enjoyed a celebrated career, but his two most iconic roles were Captain Jean-Luc Picard in "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and the older Professor X in the "X-Men" film franchise. Stewart had reportedly been expected to return as Professor X in "Avengers: Secret Wars," though plans will now have to change following his death. He was also attached to star in an adventure series titled "Barbaric," which will likewise need to recast his role.
