Get ready for a crossover event! Mori Calliope, the grim reaper VTuber from Cover Corp's Hololive EN Myth, is joining forces with popular singer and actor Kento Nakajima. They're set to perform "Gold Unbalance," the theme song for Prime Video's original variety show, 'The Strongest New Duo Deciding Battle THE GOLDEN COMBI 2025.' Talk about an unexpected, yet epic, collaboration!
Known for her unique blend of English and Japanese lyrics and killer rap style, Mori Calliope made her major debut with Universal Music in 2022, quickly gaining global recognition. This past February, she even sold out her first overseas solo concert at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles! For this new theme song, she's crafted an explosive rhythm paired with her signature no-holds-barred rap lyrics, perfectly hyping up the intense battles between the show's contestants.
Meanwhile, Kento Nakajima, formerly of the idol group Sexy Zone, has been absolutely crushing it solo. With his undeniable charm, he's excelled in singing, acting, and hosting. This year, he even held his first solo overseas concert in Taiwan, drawing in legions of adoring fans!
On the show, Kento Nakajima will be playing the "Question Demon King," challenging guests with ridiculously difficult prompts. So while he's the one putting the artists through the wringer on screen, he's also teaming up with Mori Calliope to cheer them on with the theme song!

This variety survival show pits top comedians against each other, forming "one-time special duos" to battle it out in improvised skits and crown the strongest combo. Eight temporary duos will face off against massive stage setups and hellishly difficult challenges, all vying for a 10 million yen prize! The first season broke Prime Video's variety show viewership records, and this second season is produced by Amazon MGM.
Here's the kicker: not only did they sing the song together, but they also shot a music video, though it's still under wraps! Mori Calliope gushed, "Working with Nakajima-san created a completely new chemical reaction! Our voices blend incredibly well, and when we sing together, the energy just explodes. I hope everyone can feel that power surging out to the world." She also confessed that dancing next to Kento Nakajima put some serious pressure on her, sparking a resolve to "practice dancing even harder!"
Kento Nakajima added, "It's a huge honor to team up with Mori Calliope, who is loved by so many fans worldwide, and to blend our voices. This song has incredible energy, and our vocals intertwine in a beautifully irregular way. You absolutely have to hear our brand-new sound!"
Honestly, seeing a VTuber and a real-life idol join forces like this really proves that VTubers are making huge strides into the mainstream. We can't wait to hear what kind of musical magic these two cooked up!
