Authored by Yusei Matsui, the wildly popular manga Assassination Classroom ran from 2012 to 2016 and hit its anime 10th anniversary this year. Back in September, it was announced that a brand-new movie, Assassination Classroom: Our Time, was in the works.
Today (12/15), the official trailer and main visual were unleashed, alongside the reveal that rising singer-songwriter Tomonari Sora will perform the theme song, "Teacher," specially crafted for the film. Mark your calendars: it's set to premiere in Japan on March 20, 2026!
The official word is that this new movie will fully adapt previously un-animated chapters, bringing them to life as a completely fresh production. The newly released main visual poster captures Koro-sensei in the classroom, with scattered photos of memories floating around as students, each with a different expression, chase after those fleeting moments.
The poster also features a powerful tagline: "With 10 years of love, dedicated to you." This perfectly encapsulates the project as a definitive tribute to all Assassination Classroom fans.
The theme song is confirmed to be "Teacher," a brand-new track by popular artist Tomonari Sora. He shared his excitement, stating, "Assassination Classroom was a huge part of my elementary and junior high school years. After performing the re-broadcast's opening theme this spring, it's a true honor to be in charge of the movie's theme song this time. I grew up alongside Class E, and this song is my thank-you gift to Koro-sensei."
The newly released trailer sets the stage with just 15 days left until Koro-sensei's assassination deadline, and graduation looming for Kunugigaoka Junior High's Class 3-E. The students look back, recounting the intense days spent with Koro-sensei in that classroom, and even Koro-sensei's never-before-seen "after-hours secrets." This film promises to fully reveal "the days of Class 3-E you never knew about."
