The Pokémon Company has officially announced its brand-new battle title, "Pokémon Champions," set to roll out starting April 2026. The Nintendo Switch version will drop first, with the mobile edition slated for release later this year. This combat-focused game is being hailed as a major leap towards professional esports for the Pokémon franchise.

During a recent livestream, officials confirmed the Switch version will be available for download in April, giving players an early taste of the fresh battle platform. The mobile version will follow within the year, further expanding the player base. Players will be able to transfer their Pokémon from existing titles, including those caught in classic remakes on Switch, into this game via Pokémon Home, ready for battle.
As an added bonus, "Pokémon Champions" will gift players four Mega Stones: Chesnaughtite, Delphoxite, Greninjite, and Florgesite!

"Pokémon Champions" is laser-focused on the core competitive battling experience and has already been confirmed to replace "Pokémon Scarlet and Violet" as the official battle title for the 2026 Pokémon World Championships. This shift signals the company's intent to consolidate the competitive landscape, aiming for a more stable and unified tournament platform.
While a full compatibility list hasn't been revealed yet, The Pokémon Company has hinted that both console and mobile-related titles are within the scope of planning. This suggests that most currently available Pokémon could potentially be supported. If this integration goes smoothly, it means players can continue using their long-nurtured teams, significantly lowering the barrier to entry.
