As more details emerge for "Resident Evil Requiem," fans are buzzing about whether the series will recapture its early survival horror vibe. While Nick Apostolides is back to voice Leon, the real game-changer this time around is newcomer heroine Grace Ashcroft. Her actress, Angela Sant'Albano, recently spilled the beans in an interview, revealing that the dev team's core directive from day one was to bring the game "back to its horror essence."

“I watched a ton of gameplay footage because Capcom kept emphasizing that they wanted to return to the horror roots of Resident Evil,” Angela confessed. She admitted this was her first dive into a horror game, so she really focused on nailing that slow-burn, unsettling atmosphere. “I really wanted to capture that lurking, oppressive rhythm.”
To get even closer to the in-game experience, the team even turned off the lights during motion capture sessions, relying solely on flashlights and headlamps. Angela recounted, “We turned all the lights off and just moved around with flashlights. They really tried to make the set feel as close to the real situation as possible, even if there weren't actual zombies charging at us.”

Beyond watching videos, she also got hands-on with the series, getting particularly hooked on "Resident Evil 4." “I looked up and realized I’d been playing for three and a half hours—where did the time go?” she laughed. “It’s terrifying, but also incredibly immersive. That level of focus makes you forget time, though it definitely eats up a few hours.”
