Nobuyuki Fukumoto's manga "Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor" is probably a name you're already familiar with. Even if you haven't dived into the manga, chances are you've caught the live-action film starring Tatsuya Fujiwara.
Now, Bandai's classic board game "Donjara" (ドンジャラ) is teaming up with "Kaiji" for an epic, adult-oriented collaboration: "Adult Donjara: Reversal Battle Kaiji"! This wild new set fully integrates the "Kaiji" universe into the Donjara gameplay, creating a version that'll get even grown-ups hyped. Priced at 7,777 JPY, it's currently available for order on the Any online store and Amazon.
Standard "Donjara" plays a lot like Mahjong, where players swap tiles to complete sets of matching patterns. The player with the highest-scoring hand at the end wins. But that's not all! You can also use the same tiles for games like Old Maid, Concentration (matching identical cards), and more—offering a total of ten different ways to play for two to four players.
"Adult Donjara: Reversal Battle Kaiji" still revolves around collecting and matching tiles for points, but every single tile now features characters and iconic scenes from "Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor." Plus, it comes with specially designed original rules that let fans relive the story as they play.
Beyond Kaiji and other character tiles, famous scenes are now actual tile patterns, alongside some seriously clever original combinations. They've even incorporated the "17 Steps" gambling concept from the original manga, giving you that authentic, high-stakes vibe of battling it out in an underground casino.
The included game mat is double-sided: one side features a manga panel collage, while the other sports a "17 Steps" battle board style. The entire set is also designed for easy disassembly and storage, making it more compact than traditional Donjara—perfect for taking on the go or tucking away when you're done.
