Resident Evil's Leon Kennedy Shipping Wars Reignite as Voice Actor Admits: 'Without Ada, He Might Not Be Alive Today'

Leon S. Kennedy's love life has been a hot topic among "Resident Evil" fans for ages. Will he end up with the enigmatic Ada Wong, or his steadfast partner Claire Redfield? The official answer remains elusive, sparking a long-running debate.

Recently, Leon's voice actor, Nick Apostolides, weighed in on the classic debate during an interview. While he carefully avoided picking a side, his comments about Ada repeatedly saving Leon have once again stirred up the player base.

When asked by PC Gamer what kind of life he envisions for Leon in the future, Apostolides shared:

"I actually hope he finally settles down, maybe opens an ice cream shop." He chuckled, adding, "I think he deserves a little break, a vacation, and just fight zombies occasionally." This vision resonated with many players, given Leon's long history of battling bio-organic threats.

But when pressed further on who he'd want Leon to settle down with, specifically if he'd like to see Leon and Ada together, Apostolides became noticeably more cautious. He laughed, responding:

"I don't know, I could get into a lot of trouble if I answered that." He then quipped, "About half the fanbase would want to hang me." His remarks perfectly encapsulate the intense, years-long debate between the "Ada camp" and the "Claire camp."

While not openly endorsing either side, Apostolides did offer his thoughts on Ada. He stated, "I really like Ada too," adding, "You can hate her, that's fine, but without her, Leon probably wouldn't be alive right now. She's saved him three or four times."

Indeed, throughout the "Resident Evil" series, Ada has repeatedly come to Leon's aid at critical moments, even as their relationship remains shrouded in mystery and betrayal. Claire, on the other hand, was a crucial partner who fought alongside Leon in "Resident Evil 2," giving both factions plenty of reasons to champion their chosen pairing.

With the recent discovery of what appears to be Leon wearing a wedding ring in the new title "Resident Evil Requiem", the fan community has once again erupted in fervent discussion over "who is Leon's significant other." While the voice actor's comments didn't provide a definitive answer, his single remark about Ada has certainly reignited this long-running fan debate.
