Warner Bros. Pictures' new "Frankenstein" adaptation, "The Bride!", produced with a budget of nearly $90 million, officially premiered last weekend. Unfortunately, the film failed to resonate with audiences, opening to only approximately $7.3 million in North America. This figure is significantly below Warner Bros.' initial projections of $16-18 million, and also under other studios' and independent box office trackers' estimates of $10-15 million. Even including overseas territories, the global opening weekend total was a meager $13.6 million, effectively confirming an early box office loss for the studio.

"The Bride!" inherently struggled to attract audiences. Its complex narrative elements led to an unclear genre definition, and its overly niche style made it difficult for general audiences to generate interest. As expected, post-release word-of-mouth was highly polarized, with few viewers receptive to its unique presentation.
On the other hand, Pixar's new animated feature, "Hoppers," which opened in North America the same week as "The Bride!", saw a strong debut. It topped the weekend box office with $46 million. "Hoppers" also garnered $42 million overseas, bringing its global opening weekend total to a robust $88 million. This marks Pixar's best-performing original film since 2017's "Coco," a studio that has seen its original productions frequently underperform in recent years. "Coco" opened to $50 million in North America and ultimately grossed over $820 million worldwide, indicating that "Hoppers" is clearly poised to surpass it.
