Three years after stepping in to direct "Fast X" , "The Incredible Hulk" filmmaker Louis Leterrier (pictured below) is slated to return for the concluding chapter of the "Fast & Furious" saga. However, before production officially begins on the franchise's finale, Leterrier has taken on another major directorial role, signing on with Apple to helm the sci-fi action adaptation "Liminal."

"Liminal" is based on the graphic novel "Telepaths." The original story is set in a fictional parallel world where, due to a mysterious electromagnetic interference, one-tenth of Earth's population suddenly develops telepathic abilities. The plot centers on a group of newly recruited Boston police officers, all possessing telepathy, who must confront a syndicate led by wrongly convicted prisoners. This group seeks to escape their world, but their extraordinary powers inevitably make them targets for pursuit.
The screenplay for "Liminal" was penned by Justin Rhodes, co-writer of "Terminator: Dark Fate." The film's lead roles will be played by two stars with ties to the Marvel universe: Vanessa Kirby and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
