The heated dispute surrounding the lead actors of "It Ends with Us," which has simmered since 2024, has officially concluded today. Producer Blake Lively and director Justin Baldoni issued a joint statement, signaling a truce and settlement in their contentious standoff.
In their statement, they wrote: "The final product — the film 'It Ends with Us' — is something everyone involved in its production is proud of. Our unwavering goal has always been for it to make a tangible impact on the lives of domestic violence survivors (and survivors of any violence) and to raise public awareness of the issue. We acknowledge that the production process was challenging, and we believe that the concerns raised by Ms. Lively deserve to be taken seriously. We remain steadfastly committed to fostering a workplace free from misconduct and inefficiency. We sincerely hope that this matter can conclude amicably, allowing everyone to move forward constructively and peacefully, including fostering a respectful environment online."

Even before the release of "It Ends with Us," media reports frequently surfaced about Lively and Baldoni clashing over creative differences and experiencing constant on-set conflicts. Reports also indicated that Lively had enlisted her husband, Ryan Reynolds, to unofficially help rewrite the script, allegedly in violation of the then-ongoing Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike rules. Later that year, following the film's release, Lively retaliated by accusing Baldoni of colluding with his PR team to leak negative stories to the media and of repeatedly verbally harassing her on set.
The ensuing lawsuit was fiercely contested, with demands for hundreds of millions of dollars in damages and neither side willing to back down. However, as public discussion of the prolonged controversy significantly waned, both parties have now decided to put their differences aside.
