With a staggering 4,096 gashapon machines, it's now recognized as the single venue with the most gashapon machines globally.
Nestled in Ikebukuro's Sunshine City, the "Bandai Namco Cross Store Tokyo" opened its doors in 2023 as one of Bandai Namco's official flagship stores. This ultimate otaku pilgrimage site boasts a dedicated Ichiban Kuji shop, the record-breaking gashapon zone, a Sunstar Stationery specialty store, Namco arcade, NARIKIRI WORLD STORE TOKYO, BANDAI CANDY OFFICIAL SHOP, and a One Piece Card Game direct store. It's an absolute must-visit for any anime fan hitting Ikebukuro.
On the morning of June 16, under the watchful eye of official Guinness World Records adjudicators, staff meticulously checked each gashapon machine for functionality. The initial challenge aimed for 4,099 machines, with 4,096 successfully passing inspection, officially smashing the world record!
Adding to the excitement, Japanese seven-member idol group CANDY TUNE made a special appearance. The members not only witnessed the entire measurement process but also had the honor of turning the final seven gashapon machines that sealed the record.
