Fans were absolutely stunned when it was announced in late May that The Socially Awkward Snow Woman Widow and the Cursed Ring (人付き合いが苦手な未亡人の雪女さんと呪いの指輪), an adult doujinshi manga by Pūzaki Pūna, would be getting a TV anime adaptation.
Today (July 31), the official announcement dropped: the anime is set to premiere in October 2026! Alongside the release date, a new key visual, core production team, and voice cast have also been unveiled.

The Socially Awkward Snow Woman Widow and the Cursed Ring first launched in 2021, followed by two sequels. The third volume is slated for release in early October this year.
The story unfolds in an era where various races coexist. Our protagonist, Satoru Takahashi, inherits his father's business managing an apartment complex exclusively for yokai after his passing. One day, a stunningly beautiful woman with snow-white skin, sapphire eyes, and an incredible figure moves in. She seems to be quite socially awkward... To bridge the gap between them, Satoru uses a "Cursed Ring." The ring's power? It allows him to control any yokai within its range by focusing his thoughts. And so, their unique relationship begins to blossom...

The official key visual, released simultaneously, centers on the silver-haired Mifuyu Yukino and the shrine maiden Kaede Kiryūin. The voice cast features Shidō Harumichi, Kitami Rokka, and Ayumi Sara. With Kitami Rokka and Ayumi Sara being prominent voice actresses in adult games, it's safe to say the vocal performances here will be... *unrestrained*.

Leading the production team is Koga Kazuomi, director of the "Rent-A-Girlfriend" series, taking the helm as director. Nishida Miyako serves as chief animation director, while Kurosaki Eiyo, known for their work on "In-Yoku Danchi," is handling the series composition. Animation production is by studio HōKIBOSHI, which previously worked on "Harem Camp!", another anime adapted from an adult manga.
What's more, in addition to faithfully adapting the original manga, this anime will feature brand-new original storylines, all supervised by the original author! Fans can look forward to fresh content not found in the manga.

This series also marks a historic first in Japanese animation: it's the first adult doujinshi to be directly adapted into a TV anime without prior commercial serialization. For a fan-created work to achieve an anime adaptation is truly an industry milestone. Many fans are undoubtedly hyped, and we're eagerly awaiting more updates!
