Koei Tecmo previously unveiled the latest installment in the Attack on Titan series, Attack on Titan 3, during the Summer Game Fest opening showcase. This marks the series' return after an eight-year hiatus.
Now, it's official! During the YouTube program "Attack on Titan 3 Game Release Date Official Livestream" on August 3, it was announced that Attack on Titan 3 will officially launch on December 10, heading to PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.
Developed by Omega Force, a studio under Koei Tecmo, the Attack on Titan game series kicked off with its first title in 2016, followed by Attack on Titan 2 in 2018. Since the original manga hadn't concluded at that time, the first two games focused on the storylines of the anime's first and second seasons.
Attack on Titan 3 is being touted as the ultimate culmination of the game series, allowing players to fully experience the entire saga, from its very beginning all the way to the final arc. Beyond reliving intense battles against the Nine Titans and diving into brand-new story content, iconic scenes from previous titles have been completely revamped with fresh gameplay mechanics, promising an even more immersive experience.
The game's signature ODM Gear combat has also undergone a massive evolution. Players will enjoy even greater freedom for high-speed aerial maneuvers, adapting their tactics to different Titan movement patterns for more thrilling and exhilarating extermination battles.
Alongside the release date and gameplay footage, the official announcement also detailed the luxurious bonus content for each edition.
