After parting ways with his former agency Johnny & Associates in 2023, idol-turned-executive Hideaki Takizawa launched his own talent agency, TOBE, as its president, continuing to expand his business by nurturing new idol artists.
The Japanese government recently announced that TOBE has been awarded the "Dark Blue Ribbon Medal" (Konju Hosho) on the 10th, in recognition of their substantial donation of ¥140 million to Ishikawa Prefecture for the relief efforts following the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake and the Oku-Noto heavy rain disaster. The award acknowledges their tireless dedication to disaster relief.
At the time, TOBE channeled the proceeds from its "Act for HOPE to HEROes PROJECT" charity initiative to Ishikawa Prefecture, specifically for supporting the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake and Oku-Noto heavy rain disaster areas.
TOBE artists united to produce the theme song "Be on Your side." Proceeds were generated through digital song releases (starting March 18, 2024), CD single sales (released May 1, 2024), and the "Act for HOPE to HEROes PROJECT in TOKYO DOME" charity event (held August 11, 2024). In line with their previously announced plan, all profits from these activities were donated.
At the time, TOBE artists Ken Miyake, Hiromitsu Kitayama, and Yuta Jinguji (from Number_i) visited the Ishikawa Prefectural Office to present the donation, which totaled ¥147,306,798.
Regarding the Dark Blue Ribbon Medal award, TOBE stated:
"TOBE has always been committed to providing support, even if just a little, to those affected by disasters, engaging in various relief activities alongside our artists. The continuation of these efforts is powered by the fans who resonate with our mission and join the support initiatives through charity events. We extend our sincerest gratitude once again to everyone who has offered their warm support and assistance."
As part of its "Act for HOPE PROJECT," TOBE is currently expanding its support efforts, leveraging the power of entertainment to contribute to the reconstruction of areas affected by the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake.
Hideaki Takizawa has long demonstrated a hands-on approach to philanthropy, tirelessly dedicating himself to social welfare, and has inspired the artists under his leadership at TOBE to do the same.
In their statement, TOBE also specifically thanked their vast fanbase for their enthusiastic support and stated that their disaster relief efforts have now extended to the Kumamoto Earthquake recovery, with plans to continue using the power of entertainment to bring warmth to those in need.
