The web novel Shangri-La Frontier ~Crappy Game Hunter Challenges God-Tier Game~ (シャングリラ・フロンティア〜クソゲーハンター、神ゲーに挑まんとす〜), penned by author Katarina, has been a massive hit, not just as a novel and manga adaptation, but also earning rave reviews for its anime adaptation. Season 2 aired in October 2024.
Now, the official word is out: Season 3 is set to kick off on January 10, 2027, and will run for two consecutive quarters! To celebrate, a brand-new key visual has also been unveiled.
The key visual centers on Rakuro Hizutome, aka "No Face," who's gearing up to attend the "GGC (Global Game Competition)" game festival in a cosplay outfit as part of the new arc. The visual also features the real-life appearances of Towa Amane ("No Name"), Kei Uomi ("Kei"), and Megumi Natsume ("Nu2meg"), alongside their chosen in-game characters: Cursed Prison, Clockfire, Silver Jumper, and Yggdrasil.
Accompanying the key visual is the electrifying tagline: "Chaos Erupts."
The announcement of a two-quarter run means the series will be gracing our screens all the way through summer. This extended broadcast length mirrors the first two seasons and is a testament to the anime's soaring popularity!
