Gosho Aoyama's manga series, Yaiba, saw a new anime adaptation, YAIBA, premiere last April after decades of anticipation, receiving a great response.
After the first season concluded last year, a second season was immediately announced. Today, on the 19th, the official announcement confirmed that Season 2, the "Kaguya Arc," will begin airing in January 2027, alongside the unveiling of a brand-new key visual.
The first season of the TV anime aired from April 5 to September 27, 2025. The upcoming second season will officially delve into the "Kaguya Arc."
The "Kaguya Arc" is a highly captivating storyline from the original manga. While the 1993 anime adaptation concluded with Princess Kaguya as the final boss, it seems this new production has plenty of material for future anime adaptations.
In the newly revealed key visual, we see Yaiba and Onimaru fiercely clashing, wielding the Dragon God Sword and Wind God Sword, respectively. Reflected in their blades are Kaguya, who has abducted Sayaka, and Tsukikage Gekko.
