The legendary gourmet manga series Oishinbo (美味しんぼ), originally penned by Tetsu Kariya and illustrated by Akira Hanasaki, just dropped some delicious news on the 19th! A brand-new TV anime adaptation, titled New Oishinbo, has been officially confirmed, marking the series' return to the screen after more than three decades. A super teaser PV has also been unveiled, though fans will have to wait a bit longer for the broadcast date. 
First launched in 1983, Oishinbo quickly became a staple in Shogakukan's manga magazine Big Comic Spirits. The series has since cooked up an impressive 111 tankobon volumes and even received its first TV anime adaptation way back in 1988.
The story follows gourmet journalists Shiro Yamaoka and Yuko Kurita, who are tasked with creating the "Ultimate Menu" for the Tozai Newspaper. As they embark on their culinary adventures, they meet all sorts of fascinating people, using the power of food to help them overcome their troubles.
This exciting announcement comes with a powerful tagline: “Both the origin and the pinnacle. The 'ultimate' gourmet anime will be revived here!” officially kicking off the new TV anime project.
