This year's 23rd installment in the Pretty Cure series, "Pretty Cure," has been a hot topic since its title reveal, character introductions, and premiere, bringing this excellent long-running IP to an even wider audience.
Talk about a surprise! During Capcom's stage event at Tokyo Game Show 2026 on the 20th, it was announced that fighting game "Street Fighter 6" and the anime "Pretty Cure" are officially teaming up for a collaboration! A four-episode original story, born from this epic crossover, will start streaming sequentially from December 17th.
The official Street Fighter X account also posted: "Pretty Cure has arrived in the world of 'Street Fighter 6'!? Facing various incidents unfolding in the heart of battle, Pretty Cure will team up with familiar fighters to solve the cases! The original collaboration story will begin streaming on December 17th, so get ready!"
Of course, this isn't part of the main "Pretty Cure" anime; it's a special collaboration anime. The preview image released by the official channels looks like a game-screen dialogue box, showing Anna and Kobayashi discovering a malfunctioning arcade machine at the game center.
And it seems like the "Street Fighter 6" characters are about to pop out of the arcade too! What kind of story will unfold, and how will they unravel the mystery of the machine?

This unexpected "Street Fighter" x "Pretty Cure" collaboration sparked gasps and applause from the audience. Online, fans reacted with comments like, "This news is so shocking I can't even process it... what in the world is going on!?", "Another crossover that's left me speechless!", and "Never would've guessed a collab like this!"
It's currently confirmed that these four collaboration anime episodes will start airing from December 17, 2026. It's likely to be a series of web shorts, so we'll just have to wait and see what kind of wild style this crossover brings!
