Mayla Classic x "The Case Study of Vanitas" Unveils Lavish Vanitas-Inspired Booties!

Japanese fashion brand Mayla Classic has previously teamed up with Cardcaptor Sakura, Rozen Maiden, and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, earning plenty of praise for its apparel, footwear, and accessories.

The brand recently announced a collaboration with Jun Mochizuki’s manga The Case Study of Vanitas, unveiling an ornate pair of booties inspired by protagonist Vanitas. Priced at ¥33,000, preorders will open on September 25, 2026.

The Vanitas-inspired design makes its biggest statement at the heel, where a large blue bow recreates the one worn at the character’s collar. Its overlapping layers and dramatic drape have also been rendered in meticulous detail.

At the center of the shoe is an original metal ornament inspired by The Book of Vanitas and interlocking gears. A translucent blue stone evokes the glowing blue gem that appears on the book, while additional detailing references its safety chain.

Each purchase also comes in an exclusive shoebox modeled after The Book of Vanitas. Open it up to reveal an illustration of Vanitas set against a backdrop inspired by the Vampire of the Blue Moon.
