Starbucks Japan is teaming up with Pokemon for the Pokemon + Starbucks collection, launching September 30. The 41-piece lineup covers insulated bottles, mugs, and coffee-brewing gear, with Poké Ball details even making their way onto a tumbler lid. Stores will also serve a Pikachu-themed Honey Cream Latte.
The collection features 12 original illustrations by Japanese artist Hikaru Ichijo, following Pokemon and their barista partners on a coffee-fueled adventure. Pikachu powers an espresso machine, while Bulbasaur tends to coffee plants, giving each Pokemon’s familiar abilities a fresh twist. Ichijo’s faceless figures and bold blocks of color give these old favorites a stylish editorial makeover.
Leading the drinkware lineup are 473ml stainless-steel TOGO insulated bottles priced at ¥6,600 each. Six designs are available: Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Eevee, and an all-character Coffee Connection edition. Each of the five character bottles features different artwork on the front and back, with one side capturing the Pokemon and its barista partner in action and the other depicting their first meeting or everyday life together. The locking lid and vacuum-insulated double-wall construction help keep drinks hot or cold.

Fans who prefer a cleaner look can opt for a second set of 473ml stainless-steel insulated bottles, also priced at ¥6,600 each. The five designs pair each Pokemon’s signature color with matching bottle and lid accents, while laser-etched character art and collaboration branding keep things more understated than the full-illustration versions.

The item that feels most like proper Trainer gear is the 458ml straw tumbler with carrying strap, priced at ¥4,800. Its lid takes design cues from a Poké Ball, while the transparent body features Pikachu and a barista setting off on their journey. The strap makes it easy to carry on the go, though this tumbler is intended for cold drinks only, and the lid is not completely leakproof, so keep it upright.

There are plenty of options for desks and home setups, too. The 355ml stackable mugs are priced at ¥3,800 each, while the 355ml 2-way stainless-steel cup and cup holder costs ¥4,000 per design. The latter can hold drinks directly or fit a plastic Starbucks Japan Tall-size takeaway cup. Its double-wall construction helps reduce condensation from cold drinks, but it is not compatible with paper cups or other sizes.
Home brewers should check out the 296ml heat-resistant glass mug with a stainless-steel filter, priced at ¥4,400, which lets users brew coffee without disposable paper filters. The collection also includes a 550ml stainless-steel pour-over kettle, a glass drip coffee maker, and a ceramic storage canister, priced at ¥5,800, ¥4,900, and ¥3,800, respectively. In other words, your entire coffee corner can get the Pokemon treatment.
Collectors looking to bring home Ichijo’s new artwork can pick up a ¥2,000 postcard set featuring all 12 illustrations. There is also a ¥1,800 sticker set and acrylic charms priced at ¥1,500 each. Cup-shaped PVC pouches come in five character designs for ¥2,200 each, making it easy to match your bag and desk accessories with your favorite partner.
Also arriving in stores is the “Pikachu Honey Cream Latte”, combining honey, caramel, and espresso beneath honey-flavored whipped cream. A heart-shaped topping inspired by Pikachu’s red cheeks finishes the drink. It will be available exclusively as an iced Tall, priced at ¥678 for takeaway and ¥690 for dine-in customers. Sales are scheduled to run through October 8. Each drink comes with one collaboration sticker while supplies last, and the beverage may sell out early.
The merchandise will launch through Starbucks Japan’s official online store at around 6:00 a.m. Japan time on September 30, 2026. On launch day, customers will be limited to one of each item per transaction. The 473ml Coffee Connection reusable cup, priced at ¥1,300, will also be sold at physical stores in Japan, with some locations excluded.
Stores will additionally offer three Starbucks Card designs featuring the full cast, Pikachu, and Eevee. Each card can be issued with a minimum ¥2,000 deposit. From September 30 through October 2, physical stores will limit collaboration merchandise and cards to one of each item per customer; the drink is not subject to this restriction. All listed prices include Japanese consumption tax, and merchandise will be available while supplies last.
