First announced in December 2025 as part of the 20th-anniversary celebrations for Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, the franchise’s all-new anime CODE GEASS Star Chaser Aspal then went quiet for months.
On September 26, the official team finally unveiled the project’s first teaser trailer and confirmed a 2027 debut, giving longtime fans a release window at last.
As a completely original production, no story synopsis has been revealed yet, though it is expected to expand the wider Code Geass universe. The project has also been confirmed as a TV anime, marking the franchise’s first new television anime production in years.
Kazuya Nomura will direct the series, with Mado Nozaki handling series composition and Rolua providing the character designs. Yoshi. is designing the mysterious “Agarmatha” featured in the anime, while SUNRISE is credited with the original concept, planning, and animation production.
Unveiled as a major 20th-anniversary project, the anime has finally resurfaced after a long wait. What kind of story it will deliver remains a mystery, but the teaser should give Code Geass fans plenty to speculate about until more details arrive.
