Written by Fuse and illustrated by Mitz Vah, the light novel series That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime has already spawned multiple TV anime seasons and theatrical films. The original novels wrapped up with Volume 23 last year, while the franchise’s second movie, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea, opened this February and Season 4 began airing this year.
After the finale of Season 4’s first two cours aired on the 25th, the official team announced that Cour 3 will premiere in July 2027. The spin-off That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Clayman's Revenge is also officially getting a TV anime adaptation, scheduled to begin airing in April 2027.
Season 4 of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime was planned from the start as a massive five-cour project, so Cour 3 only takes us into the middle stretch. In other words, there is still a long way to go before this season reaches its grand finale.
Adding even more Slime to the schedule, the spin-off manga That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Clayman's Revenge, based on an original concept by Fuse and illustrated by Wataru Kajika, is also making the jump to television.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Clayman's Revenge follows Marionette Master Clayman after he is killed by Rimuru at Walpurgis. At the instant of his death, Clayman awakens the Unique Skill Survivor—then opens his eyes to find himself back in his own room 70 years earlier. Determined not to repeat the same mistakes, he begins searching for a way to change his fate. Can Clayman turn this time loop to his advantage and escape the ruin waiting for him?
The official team has confirmed that Takehito Koyasu will voice Clayman. The series is currently scheduled to premiere in April 2027, with more details to be revealed at a later date.
The Slime franchise delivered both a new theatrical film and Season 4 in 2026, and it is showing no signs of slowing down in 2027. Between Season 4 Cour 3 and a brand-new spin-off anime, fans have plenty more Slime on the way.
