Created by Taizan 5, the short manga Takopi's Original Sin began serialization on Shonen Jump+ in late 2021. The manga quickly built a strong following, while its 2025 anime adaptation sparked even more buzz.
In May 2026, the official team announced the animated film Takopi's Original Sin: Thank You, See You Tomorrow (タコピーの原罪 -ありがとう、また明日-). The film is now set to open in Japanese theaters on November 27, 2026.
Takopi's Original Sin: Thank You, See You Tomorrow will reedit all six episodes of the original anime into a feature-length film, complete with newly added scenes. The theatrical cut promises to bring the entire story together for the big screen.
A big-screen release is another sign of the series' popularity, but the real question is what those new scenes will add to the story. Compressing the six-episode anime into a theatrical feature could also give the drama a very different rhythm. Fans will have to wait and see what surprises the filmmakers have in store.
