The official Naruto anime team has announced that fresh details about its brand-new anime project will be revealed during the “#NARUTO: What's Next?” panel at New York Comic Con 2026, the major pop-culture event taking place in New York. The presentation is scheduled for October 11 in Japan, or October 10 local time.

The project was first announced in 2022 as the Naruto anime celebrated its 20th anniversary. While no story details were revealed at the time, it was confirmed as a four-episode commemorative anime, keeping fans eagerly awaiting more. In August 2023, however, the official website announced that the 20th-anniversary production had been postponed to allow the team more time to improve its quality.
New York Comic Con 2026 will now host the global premiere of the latest information on the brand-new anime, potentially offering the first real look at the long-delayed project.
The panel will feature Junko Takeuchi, the Japanese voice of Naruto Uzumaki, alongside Noriaki Sugiyama, who voices Naruto’s rival and closest friend, Sasuke Uchiha. Studio Pierrot, the animation studio behind the Naruto franchise for decades, will also be represented by PIERROT FILMS executive producer Yoshihiro Tominaga and other members of the production team.
Starting at 6:00 a.m. JST on October 11, the NARUTO / BORUTO Official YouTube Channel will livestream the Naruto panel from New York Comic Con 2026, allowing fans around the world to watch the announcements in real time.
