Japan Post has a long history of teaming up with anime franchises, with past collaborations featuring Chiikawa, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Neon Genesis Evangelion. Many of these limited-edition releases have become highly sought-after collectibles capable of giving major merchandise brands a run for their money.
Its latest collaboration is with Nintendo’s beloved Kirby franchise. Dubbed the “Kirby Goods Collection 2026,” the new lineup stars Kirby as a traditional kagami mochi decoration. It goes on sale October 1 at around 2,000 post offices across Japan and through the Japan Post online store.
The collection puts a cozy cable-knit spin on four new items: a kagami mochi cushion, charm, storage pouch, and a set of 2027 New Year’s postcards. Packed with Japanese New Year flair, the lineup is equal parts practical and adorable.
