Back in June, veteran entertainment reporter Jeff Sneider first revealed on "The Hot Mic" podcast that DC Studios was quietly developing a solo series centered on Poison Ivy, one of Batman’s most iconic villains. In August, however, The Ankler reported that HBO had passed on DC’s pitch for the project. Now, the situation has changed once again, with the Poison Ivy series back in development.

Deadline exclusively reported that Lauren LeFranc, creator and showrunner of Penguin, the spinoff from Robert Pattinson’s Batman franchise, is in talks to produce Poison Ivy. LeFranc would serve strictly as a producer and is not expected to take on any writing duties, meaning she would not be the showrunner.
Deadline also noted that Poison Ivy will not be set in Pattinson’s Batman universe. That leaves two possibilities: the series could join the main DC Universe or establish its own standalone continuity. For now, it remains unclear which direction the project will take.
