BANDAI SPIRITS has unveiled the box art and additional product shots for the upcoming HG (High Grade) series release, the HG 1/144 Gundam Virsago from "After War Gundam X." Part of the BANDAI HOBBY line, HG offers the widest selection of 1/144-scale Gunpla kits. Priced at 3,190 yen including tax, the kit is scheduled for release on October 31, 2026!
The NRX-0013 Gundam Virsago was the first Gundam-type mobile suit developed after the 7th Space War. Although it was equipped with the Flash System, no dedicated Bit Mobile Suits were ever produced for it. Its abdomen houses the devastating Mega Sonic Cannon, which packs enough power to disable a warship with a single blast. Both arms feature extendable Strike Claws that can anchor the mobile suit while firing or tear directly into an opponent. Each claw also mounts a Claw Beam Cannon for ranged attacks. Additional weapons include a beam saber and a pair of Strike Shooters.
Built with completely new tooling, the HG 1/144 Gundam Virsago marks the mobile suit’s first new HG kit in 30 years. Modern engineering delivers sharper sculpting, improved articulation, and refined proportions for an exceptionally polished update. The abdominal armor opens to recreate the Mega Sonic Cannon’s firing configuration, while the extendable Strike Claw arms can be fully deployed. Accessories include one pair each of clenched fists and weapon-holding hands, two Strike Shooters, a connector grip part for combining them, and a beam saber. One of the newly released display photos even recreates the box art from the original 1996 HG Gundam Virsago kit—a fantastic Easter egg for longtime fans!
