Jordan Peele's Next Film Remains a Mystery — But His "Scare Tactics" Reboot Is Coming to Peacock

No, Jordan Peele isn't giving away any clues about his next film project. The Oscar-winning director and screenwriter recently appeared on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," where he remained tight-lipped when asked about his upcoming movie.

Fallon noted that Peele's next film, one of the most anticipated movies of 2026, has been shrouded in secrecy. "Nobody knows what the plot is, nobody knows the cast, nobody even knows if it's been shot yet," Fallon stated.

The "Get Out" director laughed heartily, responding, "Yeah! Let's keep that mystery going, you're not getting anything out of me tonight, Jimmy!"

He continued, "What's the story? Where's it going to take place? Who's starring in it? All we know right now is the release date." The film was originally slated for a December release this year but was pushed back to October 23, 2026, due to last year's Hollywood strikes.

Peele chuckled, stating, "I'm going to keep everyone in agonizing suspense!" His remark immediately drew good-natured boos from the studio audience.

However, fans eager for Peele's new work won't have to wait quite as long. Peele did reveal his upcoming involvement in the prank comedy reality show "Scare Tactics," set to launch soon on Peacock. The series is a revival of the original program, which aired on Syfy from 2003 to 2013, using hidden cameras to capture pranks that place unsuspecting friends and family in terrifying scenarios.

On the show, Peele shared the origin story of how "Scare Tactics" producers approached him to collaborate on "reviving" the popular series:

"Writing horror scripts is tough because you always have to put your protagonists in environments that normal people would typically avoid. The hardest part is making the audience understand why they willingly expose themselves to such situations. That's what's so interesting about 'Scare Tactics.' I was a huge fan of the show, and I could observe the most genuine excuses people made for staying in a scary environment, which is truly fascinating."
