Henry Cavill Joins "Voltron" Live-Action Film, Co-Starring with Tom Holland's Stage Understudy

Reports surfaced in 2022 that the classic robot anime "Voltron" was set for a live-action film adaptation. At the time, it was announced that Rawson Marshall Thurber, director of "Red Notice," would helm the project and co-write the script with Ellen Shanman. Now, two years later, the film has exciting new developments.

The Hollywood Reporter (THR) reports that former "Superman" and "The Witcher" star Henry Cavill has been announced to lead the "Voltron" live-action film, co-starring with rising talent Daniel Quinn-Toye (pictured below).

Quinn-Toye, who began his career in theater, recently served as an understudy for Tom Holland in the West End production of "Romeo & Juliet." His performance reportedly impressed producers and the director, leading to his casting in the highly anticipated film.

Furthermore, while the "Voltron" live-action film had not yet found a distributor two years ago, it is now confirmed that Amazon has acquired the distribution rights.

Plot details for the new film remain under wraps. The producing team includes director Thurber, Todd Lieberman of Hidden Pictures, Bob Koplar of World Events Productions, and David Hoberman of Hobie Films.
